Marge M. "Marjorie" MacLeod Dwyer, 89 of Aston , died February 25, 2012 at Crozer Chester Medical Center.
Born in Shamokin, she was daughter of the late Norman and Margaret E. MacLeod White. Marge lived in Chester before moving to her late residence in 1953.
She was a Crossing Guard and worked as a cafeteria lady for the Penn Delco School District and was an Avon Representative for 26 years.
Marge was a member of the Church of St. Joseph and Ladies Guild, also a member of the Aston Seniors, the Chichester AARP, Aston Women's Club, the Golden Age Group at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, and the Ladies Auxiliary at the Green Ridge Post #926 American Legion and was a former Girl Scout Leader and Little League Mom. She was also a graduate of Wilmington High School.
Marge was affectionately known as the Aluminum Can and Tab Lady, she collected cans for the Church of St. Joseph and can tabs for the Ronald McDonald House at A.I. DuPont Children's Hospital. She also collected stamps for the Assisi House in Aston.
Most important to her was her devotion to her family, especially her grandchildren and great-granddaughter and was a friend to all in the community.
Survivors; her husband of 66 years on March 1, 2012, Edward J. Dwyer, her children; Patricia D. Simpson (James) and Michael E. Dwyer (Jacqueline), her grandchildren; Christopher (Nori), Amy and Adam Simpson, Patrick, Jennalyn and Molly Dwyer, and her great-granddaughter; Emily Simpson.
Funeral Mass 11:45AM Friday, March 2, 2012 at the Church of St. Joseph, 3255 Concord Rd., Aston.
Visitation; 10:30 to 11:30AM at the Church. Burial Mt. Hope Cemetery.
