Obituary

Margaret M. Powers (nee Heffernan), 91 a lifelong resident of Delaware County died on August 19, 2024.  Born in Philadelphia and raised in Collingdale, she was the daughter of the late James P. and Margaret M. Hackett Heffernan.
Margaret was a graduate of Notre Dame High School, class of 1950 and was employed at the A & P and Superfresh Supermarkets for over 30 years.  She was a member of The Church of St. Madeline and the Aston Seniors.  Margaret enjoyed going to the casino and watching old westerns.  She was an avid Eagles fan and enjoyed traveling, especially to Cape May and the Jersey Shore but most important was her loving family.
She was the loving mother of Joseph F. Powers, Jr., James J. Powers, Noreen M. Quinn, Margaret Mary Powers (David) and the late Brian Powers, sister of the late Maryann Monaghan and Jean Pistilli, and she is also survived by 14 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandson and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass 11 AM Saturday, September 7, 2024 at The Church of St. Madeline, 400 Morton Ave., Ridley Park where relatives and friends may call after 10 AM. A private burial will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery in Cape May.
