Obituary

Margaret B. Maguire Gallagher 82 of Ridley Park, died suddenly on January 18, 2014 at her home.

Born in Philadelphia, she lived in Folcroft before moving to her late residence in 1972.

After graduating from West Catholic High School for Girls in 1948, she went to work at Bell Telephone Company as an Operator. Margaret had a terrific recollection and fond memories for people, places and things from growing up in her West Philadelphia neighborhood around 47th and Lancaster Avenues.

She was a member of the Church of St. Madeline, the Young at Heart Seniors, the Red Hat Society and also enjoyed sewing. Most important to Margaret was her devotion to her home and family.

Margaret was wife of the late Patrick F. Gallagher, her husband of 41 years, who died in 1996, daughter of the late Edward and Marie McGuigan Maguire and sister of the late Thomas, Richard, Vincent and Edward Maguire.

Survivors: her children Patrick F. Gallagher, Jr. (Barbara), Eileen M. Harkin and Margaret M. Green (John); her sisters Rosemary Nilan and Mildred (Sr. Marie Veronica, SND) Maguire; also seven grandchildren.

Funeral Mass 10:00am Friday, January 24, 2014 at the Church of St. Madeline, Penn St. and Morton Ave., Ridley Park. Visitation 8:15 to 9:15AM at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park. Burial SS.
