Obituary

Margaret Mary "Peg" Conboy, 96, of Ridley Park died on September 4, 2013 at her home.

A native of Philadelphia, she was born on April 8, 1917, and she moved to Ridley Park in 1955.

Peg was an alumna of John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls High School Class of 1936. Prior to World War II Peg worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad. Later in life she worked as a sales clerk at the former Strawbridge and Clothier Department store for 10 years, retiring in 1978.

She was a member of Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church and the Sodality, where she served the church in a variety of capacities.

In addition, she was a member of the Young at Heart Seniors and the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, Peace Council. Peg enjoyed sewing, but her family was what was most important to her.

She was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Margaret Mary Shea Hanlin, her brother, Edward F. Hanlin, Jr, and her sister, Frances Hanlin Blumenstein.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years John A. Conboy, Jr.; her children John A. Conboy, III (Carol), Meg Conboy, Edward F. Conboy and James Conboy (Jane McNichol); and her sister Mary Hanlin Burns; also her grandchildren Sheri and Matthew Conboy.

Funeral Mass 12:30 PM Saturday, September 7,2013 at Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church, 208 Milmont Ave., Milmont Park, PA where friends may call from11:15AM until 12:15PM. Burial SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
