Margaret A. Celley of Ridley Park, died Wednesday March 4, in her 92nd year. Born in Arden Delaware,Peggy Celley was a Ridley Park resident for almost 90 years.
Wife of the late Albert J. Celley, former manager of Duke Ellington and his Orchestra, and beloved mother of the late John J. Celley, Peggy is survived by her brother Theodore Roosevelt Mac Donnell of Columbus GA, son Andrew A. Celley and wife Dorothy Walsh of Dedham MA, and grandchildren Andrew M. Celley of Pittsburgh PA, Julia M. Celley and John J. Celley, Jr., both of Philadelphia PA. Peggy was a remarkable woman with many talents including music, art, and finance.
During the 1960's and 70's, Peggy was a member of the Junior Board of Taylor Hospital, which included several years as President. Peggy was loved by all who knew her.
The family would like thank Peggy's daughter-in-law Catherine Celley-Weiss, for her many years of love; The Weiss family; all Peggy's friends and neighbors; Maggie Hummel of Conner-Williams nursing home, for the expert loving care that Margaret received over the past 5 months, and to Taylor Hospital, which brought her journey full circle there on March 4th, 2015. We will miss you Peggy.
