Madeline M. "Madge" McGinnis Roche, 92 of Woodlyn, died May 24, 2014 at Crozer Keystone Hospice at Taylor Hospital. Born in Marcus Hook, she lived in Chester before moving to Woodlyn 50 years ago. Madge was a member of Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church and the Notre Dame Golden Age Club. She loved sharing her rich past through story telling. She was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed music and playing cards. Above all, Madge was deeply devoted to her entire family. She had a kind nature and gentle heart and welcomed everyone into her home.
She was the wife of the late Arthur S. Roche, her husband of 65 years, who died in 2008, daughter of the late Lawrence and Helen Kirby McGinnis and sister of the late Anna Marie McGinnis.
She is survived her children Arthur J. Roche (Patricia), Madeline "Lynne" McHugh (James) and Patricia "Trish" Roche (Joann Montagna); her siblings Mary Manning Hughes, Helen Hahn and Lawrence McGinnis: her grandchildren Patti Barnard, Chrissy Cannon, Melissa Bruette, Linda Hess, Jim McHugh, Dan McHugh and Meghan Warwick; also 18 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral Mass 10:00AM Friday at Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church, 208 Milmont Ave., Milmont Park.
Visitation 7 to 9PM Thursday and 8:15 to 9:15AM Friday at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park. Burial SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
