Mable Searles (nee Quarles), 95 formerly of Philadelphia, died on November 29, 2024 at Little Flower Manor. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Robert Anderson Quarles and Daisy Mae Tolbert Quarles.
Mable attended Temple University and before her retirement was a Director for the Philadelphia Housing Authority. She had previously worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at St. Luke's Hospital where she met her late husband, Joseph. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and was an avid reader. She also enjoyed scrapbooking about the family's history, writing short stories and poetry. Mable loved traveling; she visited the United Kingdom, Canada and Italy. New Orleans was always a favorite destination for her to visit. She also loved trips in the family RV and traveling on Amtrak rails. Most important was her devotion to her loving family.
She was the wife of the late Joseph Searles, mother of Deborah V. Taylor (David L.), Joseph T. Searles (Carla) and Carey D. Searles (Jessica Silverman), grandmother of Johanne McCrory, Jason Taylor (Erin), Jarrod Taylor (Riechel), Natasha Searles, Carey D.
