Obituary

Louis DiMatteo, Sr. 66 of Eddystone, died September 26, 2012 at his home.

Born in Bucchianico, Italy, he was son of the late Carmine and Olga C. Sulpizio DiMatteo and came to the United States on the Andrea Doria in 1953 and has lived at his late residence for 36 years.

He was employed as a sheet metal fabricator at Boeing Company, retiring in 1998.

A graduate of Ridley High School, Class of 1967, he was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the 173rd Air Brigade and was discharged from the 101st Airborne as a Sergeant.

Mr. DiMatteo was a member of St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church and a former member of St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church in Chester, and also a lifetime member of the Eddystone Fire Company where he was Past Assistant Chief.

He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and was a football fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Penn State and NASCAR.

Survivors: his wife of 41 years Margaret M. Skarren DiMatteo; sons Louis DiMatteo, Jr. and William DiMatteo; siblings James DiMatteo, Carmen DiMatteo, Jr. (Carol) and Marie DiMatteo-Budgick; grandchildren Louis DiMatteo, III, Anastasia DiMatteo and Shianne DiMatteo and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass 10:00AM Monday, October 1, 2012 at St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, Simpson St. and Chester Pike, Eddystone.

Visitation 9 to 9:45AM at the Church.

Burial Holy Cross Cemetery.
