Louis S. DeVito, 84 of Ridley Park died on September 29, 2024 at his daughter's home surrounded by his family.  Born in Chester, the son of the late Domenic and Carmela Laurantano DeVito, he lived in Parkside before moving to Ridley Park 44 years ago.
Louis was a graduate of Chester High School, class of 1957 and was a proud veteran of the US Navy.  He was employed as a Maintenance Carpenter at General Chemical for 36 years before retiring in 1997.  Louis enjoyed spending time at the Schoolhouse Senior Center where he loved playing pinochle.  Some of his hobbies included collecting coins and stamps.  He also enjoyed fishing, crabbing and going to the casinos but most important was time spent with his loving family.
He was the husband of Constance "Connie" J. Devito (nee Pierce), father of Louis S. DeVito, Jr. (Michele), Mark DeVito (Pamela), Mary Beth Cheeseman (Martin), Denise Dever (Brian) and Susan DeVito (Kevin Mallee), brother of the late Andrew DeVito, Esther Bradford, Domenic DeVito and Nancy Long, grandfather of Mark DeVito, Matthew DeVito, Domenick DeVito, Louis DeVito, III, Anthony Cheeseman, Maria Elena Cheeseman, Forest Horwith, Kevin Mallee, Jr., Erin Berich, Michelle Carrington, Morghan Dever and Marisa Dever and is also survived by his 13 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held privately.
