Loretta Joan Pinnock, 82, of Eddystone, died Monday, November 23, 2020 peacefully at her home. She had a short battle with metastatic breast cancer. She is now reunited with her beloved husband of 57 years Richard H. Pinnock.
Born in Chester, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Marie (Lentz) Oliver. Loving sister to the late Marie "Babs" Oliver, Jacquelyn "Jacki" Teofilak, June Pallishusky and her Aunt Mary Aydelotte. Loretta is survived by her sister Leona "Lee" Willa and brother John (Jack) Oliver (Yvonne).
Loretta was a loving and devoted mother of Richard Pinnock (Nancy), Susan Wagner, Debra Cipressi (Al), Karen Brennan (Tom), Nancy Jenzano and David Pinnock; grandmother of Christina Ancone (Harry), Brian Wagner, Kacie Pinnock, Brooke Jenzano, Noah Jenzano and Dana Pinnock. She also became a Great-Grandmother in June to Adlyn Rose Ancone. She was Aunt Loretta to dozens of nieces, nephews and extended family.
As a teenager, Loretta worked several waitressing jobs, but always spoke fondly of her time at Boyd and Blair restaurant in Chester. Once married with six children, Loretta was a proud homemaker. She is famous for her potato salad, crunchy meatloaf and hockey puck biscuits! Steaks were never really 'done' until the smoke detector went off! She never drove a car although once when one of her children tried to teach her, all she heard was, "The brake, the brake!!". She loved a good joke and laughed a lot. She also made us laugh a lot with some of her what-we-call 'mom-isms'.
She loved to take walks and talk with the neighbors. At one point, we told her she should run for Mayor since everyone in town knew her! She also enjoyed music, feeding and watching the birds in her yard and putting together jigsaw puzzles. Our Dad even framed and hung some of her favorite puzzles around the house for her to enjoy.
Mom will be missed by us and so many family and friends. She really did have a good life.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date, which the family will announce at a later time.
