Lloyd W. Bell, 94 of Aston, died May 23, 2012 at Riddle Memorial Hospital.
Born in Wilmington, Mr. Bell lived in Chester before moving to his late residence 44 years ago.
He was a Lab Technician for Air Products Chemical Company, retiring in 1983.
Mr. Bell was a U.S. Army veteran serving in WWII during the D-Day invasion of Normandy, France. He is a well decorated veteran, receiving the Purple Heart, American Defense Service Medal, WWII Freedom Medal and the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, before being discharged on June 30, 1945 with the rank of Technical Sergeant.
He is a member of the American Legion Post #926, Green Ridge and a former member of Chester Lodge #236, F.& A.M. Mr. Bell was an avid fisherman, hunter and enjoyed camping, golfing and bowling, but first and foremost was his devotion to family and extended family.
He was husband of the late Marian J. Aaron Bell, his wife of 50 years, who died October 2, 1997, son of the late Joseph and Edith May Collison Bell and brother of the late Robert Bell.
Survivors; his children; David L. Bell (Diane), Gary W. Bell (Nancy) and Linda M. Bell-Teofilek, his sister Margaret Parrot and seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Funeral Service 10:00AM Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 3551 Concord Rd., Aston.
Visitation after 9:00AM at the funeral home. Burial Lawn Croft Cemetery.
