Linda Ann Sokalczuk, a cherished resident of Ridley Park passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 in her home, at the age of 63.  Linda was born in Bryn Mawr, the daughter of the late John W. and Dorothy (Myers) Friedhofer, raised in Ridley Park and attended Ridley High School.  She was previously a resident of Norwood, prior to moving back to Ridley Park 23 years ago.

Linda was the loving wife of 22 years to her devoted husband, Mr. Bud Sokalczuk to whom she was affectionately known as "Doll."  She leaves behind a legacy of love through her daughter, Dr. Linda Ann Acker (Elliot) along with Christina Schneider (Josh).  Linda was known as Mom-mom to her beloved grandchildren; Elliot James "Mole" Acker, Linda Carol "Peach" Acker, Nathan "Daiquiri" Schneider, and Natalie "Sweet Pea" Schneider.

Linda was known for her warm spirit, love for her family, and inquisitive nature.  She had many passions for the simple joys of life, such as camping in her RV, cooking and testing out new recipes.  She especially enjoyed chatting on the phone with her daughter and other loved ones.

Linda had a profound affection for animals and her love extended to creatures both great and small; feeding birds and even leaving little treats for the hungry neighborhood critters, but her warm nature was most evidenced through the love she showered on her cats and dogs; they were her "babies."

She is survived by her siblings; Kathy Tubbs (Wayne) and Sandy Beaton (Scott) along with her sister-in-law Lynn Friedhofer.  She is preceded in death by her siblings Dorothy Fauls (John) and John "Jack" Friedhofer Jr. along with her former spouse James Jacobi.

Relatives and friends are invited to Linda's memorial services which will begin at 10:00am on Thursday, December 28th at St. Gabriel's Church; 223 Mohawk Ave. Norwood, PA, followed by Mass at 11:00am. Luncheon to follow at the West End Boat Club, 500 W Second St. Essington, PA In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Linda may be made to the Providence Animal Shelter, 555 Sandy Bank Rd. Media, PA.
