Linda Marie Povey of Milmont Park earned her wings on September 9, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. She was 57.
Born to Harry and Mary Jane Povey, Linda was raised in a large Irish-Catholic family in the Swarthmorewood section of Ridley Township.
She attended Notre Dames de Lourdes Elementary School and graduated from Cardinal O'Hara High School in 1974.
Always a dedicated worker, Linda entered real estate sales, eventually becoming a mortgage loan officer with Waterstone Mortgage Corporation. Linda and her family are eternally grateful for the incredible support given to her throughout her illness by her bosses and co-workers.
A winner of many distinguished awards in her profession, she was in the top ten percent of producers within her company and a member of the President's Club.
Many will remember Linda from her years working at Mister Lew's Deli, as well as being an owner of Pickle's Place in Milmont Park with her husband Ed.
Linda was blessed in life with many wonderful friends, and cherished each moment she spent with them. She especially enjoyed - her "girl's weekends," cruises, trips to the casinos, as well as numerous vacations to New Jersey, Florida, the Caribbean, Mexico, Bermuda - just to name a few.
Linda was married for 15 years to Ed Reavy, whom she always referred to as "My Best Friend," and became an incredible step-mom to Colleen and Kevin. Colleen and her husband Mark further enriched Linda's life by making her a Grandmom to Emma, who never failed to make her smile. Ed and Linda enjoyed a wonderful marriage, always surrounded by family, friends and good times. Linda loved a party and was well known for entertaining everyone with her rendition of Patsy Kline's "Crazy."
Predeceased by her father, Harry J. Povey and sister, Debra Mary Povey, she is survived by her husband, Ed Reavy; her mother, Mary Jane Povey of Swarthmore; stepchildren, Colleen (Mark) Karpinski of Cochranville and Kevin Reavy of Thorndale; sisters, Diane Madison of Swarthmore, Donna (Bert) Peters of Ridley Park, Karen (Jim) Grauer of Swarthmore, Mary Beth Nelling of Swarthmore, and Kellianne (Ken) Eckert of Milmont Park; brother, Jack (Bettyanne) Povey of Kennett Square; her sister-in-law Erin (Michael) Fredericks of Drexel Hill; granddaughter, Emma; nieces, Jillian (Dan), Jordan and Cara; nephews, Donald (Gina), Zachary, Shane, Matthew, Michael, Jesse, Joshua, Kenny and Tommy; great-nephews, Tyler and Dylan; great-nieces, Lyla, Zoey and Molly; and loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Mass celebrating Linda's life will be held on Friday, September 13, 2013, at 12 noon at Notre Dame de Lourdes Church, 1000 Fairview Road, Swarthmore, PA 19081. Visitation will be held Friday morning from 9 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at the Church.
