Leonard M. Pinto, Sr., 92, of Swarthmore died November 3, 2017. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late William and Teresa Lieze Pinto and resided in the Overbrook section of Philadelphia before moving to his late residence in 1957.
Leonard served in the US Army National Guard of Pennsylvania during the Korean War. He was employed as a Union Bricklayer for many years. After retiring, he was a General Manager at Minitman Car Wash and last worked in Maintenance for the Upper Providence School District at Penncrest High School.
Leonard was a member of Notre Dame de Lourdes R.C. Church, the Notre Dame Seniors and UNICO Italian American Club. He enjoyed coin collecting, gardening and collecting Betty Boop memorabilia. Leonard loved Norma's cooking, the beach and summers fishing at the shore. He was very proud of his Italian Heritage and was an avid Eagles Fan. Family was most important to Leonard and he enjoyed spending the holidays with his loved ones, especially Christmas.
Leonard was predeceased by his brothers, William Pinto, Jr. and James Pinto.
Survivors: loving husband of Norma Acampora Pinto, his wife of 70 years; mother of Deborah A. Tew, Leonard M. Pinto, Jr. (Sharon) and Denise T. Hamilton (Peter); brother of Mariam Brusco (Vincent); grandfather of Thomas French (Molly), Daria Levin (Devlin), Lisa Pinto (John), Leonard Pinto, III, Brian Foley, Nicholas Pinto (Kayla), Vincent Pinto, Matthew Hamilton and Zachary Hamilton; also, seven great grandchildren.
