Leonard Aloysius "Len" Farrington, 89, passed away peacefully in his sleep Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012, at home.
A native of Philadelphia, Pa., Mr. Farrington was retired from Westinghouse for the past 27 years. He was a longtime member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Rock Hill, S.C.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving his country for four years. Always a patriot, Leonard remembered the fallen of Sept. 11, 2001, with a tradition of waving the American flag over I-77 each year.
He was son of the late John Farrington and the late Mary Delahunty Farrington.
He is survived by his beloved family: his wife of 63 years, Betty Farrington; son, William John "Bill" Farrington and wife, Deborah, of Fort Mill, S.C., and their children, Michelle and Joseph Farrington; son, Bruce Farrington and wife, Robin, of Rock Hill and their children, Leslie Maury and husband, Wayne, and Jessi Farrington; and his brother, Tom Farrington of Philadelphia, Pa.
Graveside Service: Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Mount Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery.
