Kenneth A. Firth, 70
Of Ridley Park, died December 15, 2010 at Riddle Memorial Hospital of Lewy Body Dementia. Born in Ridley Park son of the late Harry and Anna Mae Diamond Firth, Mr. Firth was a resident of Ridley Park for the past 34 years, previously residing in Folsom.
Mr. Firth was a guidance counselor at Ridley High School for the 29 years year retiring in 2001 and was also the director of the Ridley Adult School. He was a member of St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church for 64 years, where he served on Church Council and played on the softball team. He was also a member of the Prospect Park Lodge #578, F. & A.M. and was a committeeman in the 4th Precinct in Ridley Park. Mr. Firth enjoyed golfing, Ridley athletics, the Phillies, Eagles and traveling to Florida and to the New Jersey shore in Sea Isle. The most important thing to Mr. Firth was his devotion to his family.
Survivors: wife of 49 years, Joan I. Schweizer Firth, children Kenneth A. Firth, Jr. (Joy) of Ridley Park, Suzanne F. Cerbus (Mike) of Glen Mills and Tracy A. Bell (Greg) of Newark, DE. His brother Harry H. Firth (Shirley) of Summerfield, FL, his sister Sandra F. Culp (Charles) of Fayetteville, GA, and his grandchildren, Lauren, Kyle, Ryan, Sydney, Evan and Payton.
Funeral Service: 11 AM Wednesday at St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, Fairview Road and Lukens Ave. Woodlyn, PA 19094.
Visitation: 6 to 9 PM Tuesday at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Avenue, Ridley Park and 10 to 10:45 AM Wednesday at the church.
Burial: Eastlawn Cemetery
