Kayla Nicole Barnes, 13 of Eddystone, died on May 4, 2013 at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia after a courageous battle with leukemia.

Born in Upland, Kayla was a lifelong resident of Eddystone.
She attended Eddystone Elementary School and currently was a student at Ridley Middle School.

Kayla was a member of St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church and the CCD Class. She was a cheerleader, played softball and basketball; she also volunteered at nursing homes, Toys for Tots and was always helping others.

Kayla was predeceased by her maternal great grandfather William Ritchey and her paternal grandmother Sharon Thornton.

Survivors: her mother Sherry Barnes and father Michael Morrison; her maternal grandmother Antoinette "Toni" Barnes and maternal grandfather "GAGA" Richard Barnes, Sr.; her maternal great grandmothers Mary Ritchey and Anna Hoban; her uncle Richard Barnes, Jr.; aunts Toni Barnes, Jessica Barnes, Melissa Morrison and Christina Thornton; also other aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Funeral Service 11:30AM Monday, May 13, 2013 at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park. Visitation after 8:30AM at the funeral home. Burial Lawn Croft Cemetery.
