Karen A. Allen

Karen A. Allen (nee Ritz), 49 a lifelong resident of Ridley Township died on April 25, 2026.

Karen was a graduate of Ridley High School, class of 1995 and received an associate's degree from Delaware County Community College. She had been employed at Boscov's at the Granite Run Mall for over 27 years. Karen was a member of the Ridley Park Presbyterian Church and Order of the Eastern Star Friendship Chapter #551.

Karen was a caring and gentle soul, who loved writing and had received awards for her poetry and short stories. She also enjoyed music and played the keyboard and mandolin, but most important was her family and many friends.

She was the wife of the late Walter John Allen who died on January 8, 2026 and is survived by her parents Harry W. and Deborah A. Bartholomew Ritz, her sister Renee Graham, her step-daughter Samantha Allen, her niece Kiera Graham, her mother-in-law Sandra Lines Allen as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Service will take place at 11 AM on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at The Ridley Park Presbyterian Church, 300 N. Swarthmore Avenue, Ridley Park, PA 19078, where friends and relatives may call 9:45-10:45 AM.
