Julia M. "Julie" Krauss, 93

Granite Farms Estates Pioneer


Julia M. "Julie" Krauss, 93, of Granite Farms, died October 22, 2011 at Riddle Memorial Hospital. Born in Philadelphia, Miss Krauss lived in Springfield prior to moving to her late residence.

She was a graduate of St. Joseph's Commercial High School in Collingdale and was employed as a secretary at Sun Oil Company for 30 years. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church and a former member of St. Kevin R.C. Church in Springfield. From a very young age Julie sang in church and school choirs and she was a charter member of the choir at Granite Farms where she sang alto. During her teen and young adult years Julie would "rather have danced than eat." She also enjoyed time with family and her many friends.

She was daughter of the late William J. and Margaret T. Berger Krauss and sister of the late Arthur W. Krauss and Alma E. Berger.

Survivors: nieces, nephews and many friends.

Funeral Mass: 10:30 AM Monday at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 430 Valleybrook Road, Chester Heights, PA 19017

Visitation: after 10 AM at the church

Burial: SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery
