Judith Roller-Fannin, née McCoy, age 75, of Delaware County, PA, passed away on December 2, 2017, at Springfield Hospital after an extended period of poor health that culminated in a brief struggle with cancer.
Judy was born and raised in Philadelphia, where she graduated from West Catholic High School in 1961. She was a long-time resident of Ridley Park and Ridley Township, before moving to Middletown. For much of her adult life, Judy worked as a successful realtor in Delaware County and the surrounding area. She was a member of the Delaware County Board of Realtors and the Suburban West Board of Realtors.
She lived her life to the fullest and held nothing back, traveling often on a whim, visiting friends unannounced, and remaining undeterred by health troubles later in her life. Those who knew Judy will remember her as a colorful character with a fondness for Elvis Presley, Harvey Walbangers, a good steak, and getting her hair done.
These interests, however, paled in comparison to Judy's true love—casino gambling. She could often be found at a blackjack table or seated in front of a slot machine. (Condolences from casinos around the world have been pouring into the family.) This passion endured later in life and she enjoyed Fair Acres' regular Sunday bingo games until the very end.
Among Judy's fondest memories were the times she spent in Hollywood Beach, MD, where she had a summer home for many years. There, she enjoyed boating, sunbathing, floating on the river, and making luscious drinks, known as "Liquid Lobotomies," for guests.
Naturally charismatic and outgoing to a fault, Judy made friends quickly and cared for them deeply. She was rewarded with the loyalty of many life-long friends, who meant the world to her. Throughout her life, Judy was happiest when surrounded by those she loved and relished the time she spent gathered with family and friends.
Judy is survived by her three children, William "Bill" Roller (Kim McCann), Steven Roller (Karen), and Veronica "Roni" Roller. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren—who will all miss their beloved Bmom—William "Billy" Mullen (Jessica), Amy Roller, Justin Roller, Jacqueline "Jackie" Realmonte (Charles), Emily Roller, Melissa Roller, and Brent Roller; and her five great-grandchild, Ava Mullen, Austin Mullen, Joey Mullen, Paisely Mullen, and Colton Roller.
She was preceded in death by her father, Leroy "Ward" McCoy; her mother, Eileen McCoy (née Gallen); her beloved husband, John "Jack" Fannin; and her former husband and father of her three children, William "Billy" Roller.
Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral mass at 10:30 AM Thursday, December 7, 2017 at the Church of St. Madeline, 400 Morton Ave., Ridley Park, PA 19078, where friends may call from 9:00-10:15 AM.
