Josephine Margaret Flurick Yankovoy, 95 of Media died April 25, 2020 at Riddle Village. Born in Essington, she was the daughter of the late Anton and Antonia Jarek Flurick and was a longtime Wallingford resident. She moved to Riddle Village in 2011 and had many enjoyable years there.
Josie "Jo" was a graduate of Ridley High School, class of 1943, where she was the Class Secretary and remained active with the Alumni Association and planned reunions. Josephine was employed by the Franklin Mint in Quality Control and was previously a Seamstress for Marion's Bridal Shop in Prospect Park. She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Russian Orthodox Church and was a volunteer at the Riddle Thrift Shop. Josephine enjoyed traveling with her late husband, but most important was spending time with her family and her church family.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 66 years, Alexander Yankovoy, who died March 10, 2011.
Josephine is survived by her sister, Vera Hosler (Peter); and nieces, nephews, cousins and many godchildren.
The family thanks the entire staff at Riddle Village for their caring and support.
A private graveside service will be held at Oakland Cemetery in Philadelphia.
A memorial service at the church will be announced at a later date after restrictions are lifted due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
