Josephine Ferrarelli Alderfer 83 of Wallingford, died November 6, 2013 at Fair Acres Geriatric Center.

Born in Chester, she lived in Swarthmore before moving to her late residence ten years ago.

Mrs. Alderfer was an ER/OR nurse at the former Chester Hospital. She was a graduate of Chester High School, class of 1948 and the Chester Hospital School of Nursing, class of 1951.

She was a member of the Chester Hospital Alumni and the Springfield Country Club and was a volunteer at Crozer Chester Medical Center. Mrs. Alderfer enjoyed playing bridge, golfing, cooking and entertaining her family and friends.

She was wife of the late Kenneth G. Alderfer, M.D. who died in 1995 and daughter of the late Ernest and Mary Buttone Ferrarelli.

Survivors: her children Kenneth G. Alderfer, Jr. (Mary) and Kyle Alderfer O'Malley (Late Denis); her sisters Rita Thomas (Late Ron) and Linda Pappas (Harry); also four grandchildren.

Private funeral service and burial were held on November 9, 2013.
