Joseph H. McCarty, Jr. 60 of Woodlyn, died July 24,2021 at his home.

Born in Chester, he lived in Brookhaven and Upper Chichester before moving to his late residence four years ago.

He was employed as a stock clerk for Giant Foods, Inc. in Aston for the past seven years.

Joe was a graduate of St. James High School and a member of the NRA and the Delaware County Field and Stream Club and was an avid fisherman.

Joe loved being outdoors, was a very hard worker and loved his family, especially his grandchildren.

He was the son of the late Joseph H. and Lois J. Buckman McCarty and brother of the late Wayne McCarty, Sr. (late Donna) and Sharon Stabb (late Robert) and granddaughter Ariana McCarty.

Joe is survived by his children, Cristina McCarty-Thompson (James) and Joseph H. McCarty,III; his sister Lois Snyder; grandchildren Ayden and Nevaeh Thompson; his half brothers, John R. Carney and William D. Carney; and also his former wife, Maria Heavlin McCarty.

Funeral Service 11:00AM Thursday, August 5, 2021 at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 3551 Concord Rd., Aston where friends may call after 10:00AM.
