Joseph J. Lichman, 66, of Folsom passed away on November 9, 2023, at his home. A resident of Folsom, PA, "Big Joe" courageously fought a battle with brain cancer for 28 months. He was a graduate of Monsignor Bonner High School (1975) and Wilmington College (1979) where he earned a degree in Business Management. He worked retail and accounting jobs before his 30 plus years at Sunoco Refinery in Southwest Philadelphia. Joe worked in the units and tanks until the refinery closed in 2019. He was an active parishioner for many years at Our Lady of Peace Parish, Milmont Park. Big Joe was a living example of his Catholic faith. You could find Joe packing boxes at local food banks, distributing food and other items to people in need or lending a helping hand or a shoulder to lean on for those with everyday problems.
Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years Debra Willoughby Lichman , devoted father of Erin Lichman and Joseph Lichman and his wife Jessica, grandfather of Frankie; brother of Eleanor (William) Murray, Edward (Kathleen) Lichman, Amelia (John) Herbert, Mary Theresa (Richard) Baron, Anne Marie (Donald) Sherman; brother-in-law to Terri Carr. Joe is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by parents Joseph and Amelia Lichman, in-laws George and Peggy Willoughby and brother-in-law Bernie Carr.
Visitation Wednesday, November 15, 2023 from 8:30 to 9:30 AM at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church, Burial SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
