Joseph Barrett, Jr., 88, of Ridley Park died August 19, 2018 at Sunrise of Granite Run. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of Joseph and Jenny Cusano Barrett and resided in Glenolden before moving to his late residence 61 years ago.

Joseph served in the US Marine Corp during the Korean War and was employed as a Master Carpenter for 44 years at Boeing. He was a member of the Church of St. Madeline and a former member of the American Legion Post #118, Harold P. Saks. Joseph had a love for music and was an accomplished musician. He had his own trio and quartet groups for many years and was a former member of the Avalon String Band. Joseph played guitar with several bands including his last band, RSVP. He enjoyed woodworking, was a skilled auto mechanic and was a "Mr. Fix It" who could fix anything. Joseph was a loving, caring person who loved his family.

He was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Thelma "Betty" Romero Barrett, who died May 24, 2005.

Joseph was the devoted father to Deborah Lynn Geigert (David), and his son who moved back home to care for his father, Joseph W. Barrett (Regina) and Kathleen Sepulveda (Rick); brother of Dominic Barrett; grandfather to Jennifer Law (Don), Brian Geigert, Renee Barrett, Michael Barrett, Maria Sepulveda and Alisa Sepulveda; also, great grandfather of Evelyn Mae Law.

Funeral Mass: 10:30 AM Friday at the Church of St. Madeline, 400 Morton Ave., Ridley Park, PA
