Joseph E. Crowley, 67, of Woodlyn died June 21, 2016 at home. Born and raised in Chester, he was the son of the late Carl A. & Mary E. Durkin Crowley and moved to his late residence 42 years ago.
Joseph is a graduate of St. James High School, class of 1966 and West Chester State College. He served in the US Army during Vietnam and was a member of Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church. Joseph was last employed by Ridley School District and previously worked for Boeing Co. and Westinghouse Corp. He was an avid reader who was interested in history, especially the Civil War, and the history of the Catholic Church. Joseph had a unique sense of humor and people often commented that he should have been a comedian. He especially enjoyed his family.
Joseph was predeceased by his brother, David F. Crowley, who died Sept. 8, 2013
Survivors: brother to Dorothy J. Crowley, Helen A. McGowan (Late Wm.), Robert T. Crowley (Dianna), Barbara J. Maiorano, Eugene R. Crowley (Dorothy); also survived by 13 nieces and nephews; and 31 grandnieces and grandnephews
Funeral Mass: 10:30 AM Saturday, June 25, 2016 at the Church of St. Madeline, 400 Morton Ave., Ridley Park, PA 19078, where friends may call from 9:00-10:15 AM.
