Obituary

Joseph C. Caldwell "Pop", 64
A lifelong resident of Delaware County passed away on June 5, 2024 at his home in Woodlyn, PA. He transitioned to the next chapter of his journey, in doing so he found eternal peace alongside his cherished son and best friend Robert "Bobby" J. Caldwell, reminding us that love transcends even death itself, inspiring us to cherish our relationships.

He was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Robert E. and Joan Lansidel Caldwell.

Joe was a retired asbestos supervisor and truck driver.  Fishing was a source of enjoyment for Joe with his children, the bonds formed and memories created on the water were worth more than any fish caught. Joe also, found great satisfaction in assisting his son in maintaining a beautiful lawn and garden, fostering a sense of pride and accomplishment in their work together.

Joe had a heart of pure gold, touching the lives of everyone he met. His humor was unmatched bringing a smile to the faces of everyone around him. He went above and beyond to help others, never expecting anything in return. He was an incredible father, grandfather, and friend; he cherished every moment spent with his family. When he wasn't spending time with his family, his favorite hobby was to sit outside and feed the deer and bluejays. He once told me he's never felt more at peace then when he looks at them.

Joe was the father of Joseph S. Caldwell (Melissa Zay-Caldwell), Brandy Caldwell (Phil Cerceo) and the late Robert "Bobby" J. Caldwell, brother of Jim Caldwell (Sue), Diane Whiteis (late Mert), Bill Dillmore and the late Frank Caldwell, Nick Caldwell, Joanie Dillmore and Tony Caldwell, he is also survived by his grandchildren Sydney Caldwell, Tony Caldwell, Sadie Rae Caldwell and Georgie Makris and many nieces and nephews along with his former wife Bonnie J. Jacobs.
