John Albert Whittaker, Jr., 89 of Aston died December 28, 2015 at Crozer Keystone Hospice at Taylor. Born in Whitemarsh Township he was son of the late John Albert and Lydia B. Shupe Whittaker, he lived in Chester before moving to Aston in 1960.
Mr. Whittaker was a veteran of the U.S. Navy who served during World War II and was retired from Akers Motor Lines. He enjoyed maintaining his longtime home and property in Aston, as well as fixing things and being with his family.
He was brother of the late Richard, Robert and William Whittaker.
Survivors: husband of Josephine Curran Whittaker, his wife of 64 years; father of John S. Whittaker (Mary Jane), James L. Whittaker (Barbara), Jean Ann Haberl, William A. Whittaker, David M. Whittaker and Sandra L. Shanko (Bruce); brother of Patricia, Katherine and Nancy; also 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
