John J. Tingle 87 a resident of Ridley Park for the past 60 years, died on March 18, 2014 at Westbury Health and Rehab in Conyers, GA. Born in Philadelphia, he was son of the late Henry E. and Margaret Swift Tingle. John was an electrician for IBEW Local 98 for 42 years, retiring in 1989. He enjoyed boating was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during WWII and received the Pacific Theatre Ribbon, the American Theatre Ribbon and the Victory Medal.

John was husband of Elizabeth M. "Betty" Frame Tingle, his wife of 65 years, who died in 2013.

Survivors: his children John E. Tingle (Carolyn) and Elizabeth M. "Betsy" McIntyre; his siblings Dorothy Cicoci, Mary Louise Hanlon and Henry Tingle; also five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
