Obituary

John T. "Jack" Henry, Jr., 93 of Ridley Park died on February 24, 2024.  Born in Philadelphia, the son of the late John and Lily Daly Henry, he had been a resident of Ridley Park for the past 63 years.
Jack was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps having served in the Korean War and was employed as a Service Technician for Electrolux for 40 years before retiring in 1992.  He was a member of the FU'S (Friends United) a long time group of friends from the old neighborhood at 18th and Moore St. in South Philadelphia. He was also a member of the Young at Hearts Senior Group and was active with The Church of St.  Madeline where he served as a Eucharistic Minister.  Jack had a zest for life and always enjoyed fishing, gardening, camping and reading, but most important was spending time with his loving family.
He was the husband of the late Lillian Mae Wahl Henry, father of John Henry (Cindy), Mark J. Henry (Kathy), Nancy Sworob (Paul) and the late Linda Warrington (John) and Stephen Henry (Patty), he was brother of the late Thomas Henry and is survived by thirteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral Mass 10:30 AM Friday, March 1, 2024 at The Church of St. Madeline, 400 Morton Ave., Ridley Park where relatives and friends may call 8:45 to 10:15 AM.  Burial SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
