John "Jack" Benjamin Sutton, Jr., passed away peacefully at his home in Upper Chichester, Pennsylvania, on December 25, 2024, at the age of 83. He was born on January 23, 1941, in Linwood, New Jersey, to John Benjamin Sutton and Edna Hammond Sutton.
John proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1959 to 1963, during which time he maintained the aerospace ground equipment and was stationed in England, Libya, and Spain. After he was honorably discharged, he pursued higher education and graduated from Widener College in 1976 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering. His professional career included roles at Litton Industries and Clifton Precision where he worked as a tool engineer and then as a designer of containment units.
A man of many interests and talents, he found joy in hunting, fishing, car restoration, and photography—hobbies that reflected his love for both the outdoors and creativity. John was an active long-time member of the Tri-Town Sportsman Association, serving for three plus years as President and additional years serving on the Board. He was an avid trap and pistol shooter and enjoyed upland bird hunting and fishing.
John was predeceased by his siblings, Robert L. Sutton (Shirley) and Joan M. Twaddell (Howard). He is survived by his sister-in-law Shirley Sutton of Chestertown, Maryland, brother-in-law Howard Twaddell of Pequea, Pennsylvania and cousin Leemond "Buddy" Sutton (Charmaine) of Elmer, New Jersey. He was a beoved uncle to numerous nieces and nephews across generations, including great-nieces and nephews as well as two great-great-nephews. He will be remembered as a devoted uncle and a dear friend to many.
John's life was marked by service, curiosity, and connection. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
