John P. Schuler, 85, of Glen Mills died February 26, 2017 at Rose Court at Maris Grove. Born in Coopersburg, PA, he was the son of the late John B. and Lillian Mariah Schuler and resided in Wallingford prior to moving to Maris Grove in 2009.
John was a graduate of Allentown High School, class of 1950, Perkiomen Preparatory School and served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He was a decorated veteran honorably discharged. He was employed as a Sales Rep for Davis Motor Parts in Prospect Park, PA. John was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, the Norwood American Legion, Prospect Lodge #578 F&AM Masonic Lodge and was involved with the Prospect Park Boys Club. He was an avid sports fan who loved to watch or listen to anything sports related. He especially loved to watch his children and grandchildren participate in their athletic events. His booming voice would be heard over the crowd cheering his family and their teammates as they competed. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, gardening and beekeeping.
John was predeceased by his son, Edward Daniel Schuler and his brother, Paul Schuler.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Elva Davis Schuler; his children, John Timothy Schuler (Patricia) and Florence Marie Spevak; his sister, Margaret VonAchen; and four grandchildren
Burial Rite and Eucharist: 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Christ Church, 104 Nevin St., Ridley Park, PA 19078, followed by a visitation and celebration of John's life in Musselman Hall.
