Of Claymont, DE. Husband of the late Shirley L. Rooney (nee Bromley), father of Patricia Strantzalis (Bill), John R. Rooney, Jr., Joseph Rooney, James Rooney, Cheryl Rooney (Paul Akley) and the late Theresa L. Rooney Russell. Brother of Margaret Lock. Also survived by 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
