John J. Preston, Sr., 64, of Milmont Park, PA passed peacefully into our Lord's hands, while surrounded by family, on November 26, 2023.  He was the son of the late Catherine Daniels Kissling.

John grew up in Yeadon, PA, where he attended St. Louis Elementary School and Yeadon High School, class of 1977.  John also attended the Florida Institute of Technology.

Since 2010, John was employed as the Secretary/Treasurer of Teamsters Local 929.  He held the position of Organizer with Local 929 from 2010 to 2013.  John was a member of Local 929 for 30 years and was a Teamster for 37 years.  As Secretary/Treasurer he was instrumental in negotiating the first national labor contract for the Red Cross and continued to participate on the Red Cross National Grievance Committee and Red Cross National Negotiating Committee.

John was the loving husband of 23 years to Kathleen "Kathy" Bradley Preston, and devoted father to John J. Preston, Jr., Thomas Preston (Kristen) and Adeline "Addy" Preston, and grandfather of Aoife Preston and John Preston, III.  He is survived by his brothers Jim Preston (Suzanne) and Jerry Preston (Diane).  He was the son-in-law of Robert and Bert Culbertson Bradley, brother-in-law of Lynne Bennett and Mary Koncir (Pat Hennessy), he is also survived by eight nephews, a niece and many loving cousins.

In addition to his love for family, John enjoyed saltwater fishing and was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles.

Funeral Mass 10:30 AM Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church, 208 Milmont Ave., Milmont Park, PA where relatives and friends may call 9:15 to 10:15 AM.  Burial private.
