Obituary

John E. "Pat" Patton 80, of Boothwyn, died on April 1, 2014 at Monticello House at Riddle Village.

Born in Philadelphia, he was son of the late Francis and Naomi Knocke Patton and lived in Ridley Park before moving to his late residence in 1973.

Pat was an Electrician for IBEW Local 98 and previously worked at the Philadelphia Navy Yard. He was also self-employed as a tool sharpener.

A U.S. Navy veteran, he served during the Korean War, receiving the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation, Korean Service Medal, China Service Medal and the Navy Occupational Service Medal. He was a member of American Legion Post 951 in Upper Chichester and a Life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Boomtowners.

Pat was a graduate of Southeast Catholic High School, class of 1951. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, making wine and the Annual Mummer's Day Parade; but most important to him was spending time with his family.

Survivors: his wife of 43 years, Mary Lou Murray Patton; his children Shawn M. Patton (Maureen), Timothy J. Patton and Erin M. Patton (Jamie) and his granddaughter Fiona.

Funeral Service 11:00AM Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Christ Church Episcopal, Nevin St. and Sellers Ave., Ridley Park where friends may call after 10:00AM. Burial private.
