John R. Mills, Jr., 77, of Swarthmore, died August 14, 2014 at Crozer Chester Medical Center. Born in Chester, son of the late John R. and Edna M. Frysinger Mills, he moved to his late residence 53 years ago.




John graduated from Chester High School, class of 1955 and was employed by Scott Paper Company before retiring in 1992.




He was a member of St. Paul's P.E. Church and a lifetime member of Delaware County Firemen's Association. John was also a member of the Springfield Hanby Lodge #0767, F. & A.M of Pennsylvania and he had coached little league baseball for Swarthmorewood A.A. John enjoyed bowling, fishing, boating and baseball, but most important was time with his family.




He was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Florence L. Stewart Mills, who died on May 23, 2011.




John was the father of Lisa Peters (Late Michael) and Jeffrey J. Mills (Danielle); grandfather of Corinne, Paige and Taylor Peters and Peyton Mills; and he was also survived by one great grandson, Braydon O'Hara.
