John J. "Jack" Miller, 89, of Morton died December 23, 2016 peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Manayunk, Jack was the son of the late Matthew and Henrietta Mills Miller and resided in South Philadelphia before moving to his late residence 64 years ago.
Jack served in the US Navy from 1950-1954 and the Navy Reserves until retiring in April 1976. He was employed by Morrison's Pharmacy and also as a Security Officer for Bonwit Teller's. Jack previously was employed as a Crane Operator in the 1970's by the City of Philadelphia. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help R. C. Church.
He was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Yolanda A. DiGregorio Miller, who died on December 26, 2012; and his siblings, Pete, Matt, Jim, Eleanor, Kate, Gertie and Theresa.
Jack is survived by his daughter, Marilyn Wolk (John); his loving grandson, John-Michael Wolk; his sister, Irene Maziarz and many nieces and nephews.
