John B. "Jack" Feeney, 88, of Swarthmore, died January 24, 2012 at his home.
Born in Philadelphia, Mr. Feeney has lived at his late residence for the past 51 years.
Jack was a graduate of West Catholic High School for Boys, Class of 1943 and St. Joseph's University. He was last employed by Texaco Refinery as a Cost Engineer, retiring in 1985 and was previously an engineer at ARCO. He was Staff Sergeant of the 490th Bomb Squadron in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II where he recieved the Air Medal; World War II Victory Medal; American Asiatic Pacific Theater Medal with six Bronze Stars and the Good Conduct Medal.
Jack was also a member of Notre Dame de Lourdes Church where he was an Eucharistic Minister and a dedicated Bingo Worker. He also enjoyed bowling, playing shuffle board at Sea Isle, but mostly his devotion to his family and home.
He was son of the late John and Mary Keegan Feeney, father of the late John A. Feeney (Roxanne) who died in 1998 and brother of the late Thomas Feeney, Mary Kerrigan, Roslyn Schalleur and Margaret Jolly.
Survivors: his wife of 52 years, Helen A. Mortimer Feeney, father of Eileen A. Morgans (Larry) and Joseph B. Feeney (Karen), grandfather of John, Kelsie, Lauren and Sean Feeney, Amanda and Evan Morgans.
Funeral Mass: 10:30 AM Monday, January 30, 2012 at Notre Dame de Lourdes R.C. Church, 1000 Fairview Road, Swarthmore, PA 19081
Visitation: 7 to 9 PM Sunday and 8:45 to 9:45 AM Monday at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park
Burial: Holy Cross Cemetery.
