John J. Ianna, 55, long time resident of Ridley Township, passed away on July 15, 2022 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
John was a graduate of Cardinal O'Hara High School, class of 1984, and a graduate of both the Pennsylvania and New Jersey police academies. John was employed by SEPTA Rail Division for 35 years, 25 as a locomotive engineer and finishing his career as a Yard Master. John was previously a police officer in Wildwood, NJ and also owned McBride's Bar & Grill in Lester with his wife. John was a member of Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. He loved the Flyers, Phillies, traveling, taking cruises, cards, trivia, music and being by the beach. Most important was his family, including his SEPTA family.
John is survived by his wife Karen E. Ianna, nee Martin, his parents John J. Ianna Jr and Joan Ianna, nee Del Franco, brother Mark J. Ianna, sons Nicholas John Ianna, John Paul Rowles (Nicole), Francis Michael Rowles (Stevie) and his grandchildren Gabriel, Melania, Michael and Kendall.
Funeral Mass 10:30 AM Thursday, July 21, 2022 at Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church, 208 Milmont Ave, Milmont Park, PA where relatives and friends may call 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday at 9:15 to 10:15 AM Thursday. Burial SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
