John R. Hurchalla, Sr., 93, of Woodlyn, died December 20, 2018 at Seasons Hospice at Phoenixville Hospital. Born in Ridley Park, he was the son the late Joseph and Sophie Petuniak Hurchalla.

John served in the US Marine Corp during WWII. He was last employed at the Philadelphia Navy Yard and had previously worked for Baldwin Lima Hamilton Locomotive. He was a member of Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church, where he was a daily communicant. John was devoted to Mary and The Rosary and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Peace Council. He was a former CYO coach and was an avid Notre Dame Football and St. Joseph's Basketball fan, but most important was his family.

He was husband of the late Rose C. Davin Hurchalla, father of the late Robert G. and John R. Huchalla and grandfather of the late Jennifer Leigh Good.

John was father to Joseph F. Hurchalla (Connie), James J. Hurchalla and Rosemary C. Moran (Tim), grandfather to Jeffrey Hurchalla and Anthony Crispin, great-grandfather to Alexa, Aubrey and Emmie, brother to Charles Hurchalla (Judy) and Valerie Mattus (Paul) and father-in-law to Patti Meade Hurchalla.

Funeral Mass 11 AM Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church, 208 Milmont Ave, Milmont Park, PA where friends may call 9:30 to 10:45 AM. Burial SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
