John "Jack" H. Hughes, 96 of Folsom died on September 5, 2025 at his home. Born in Philadelphia, the son of the late William and Laura Larsen Hughes, he had lived in Philadelphia before moving to Folsom 66 years ago.
Jack was a graduate of John Bartram High School, class of 1947 and was a proud veteran of the US Army. Before his retirement Jack had worked as a Buyer for General Electric for 53 years. He was a member of Prospect Park Masonic Lodge (now F & A.M. Penn Lodge no. 709). Jack enjoyed gardening and feeding birds and was also very patriotic, proudly displaying his American Flag at his home every day.
He was the husband of the late Mary Ann Rupinski Hughes who died on January 25, 2003 after 48 years of marriage, father of John L. Hughes (Mary), Laura A. Hughes, Robert D. Hughes (Diane) and Karen L. Southern (Bill), brother of the late William Hughes, Ruth Landwehr and Celestine Nichols, he is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A visitation will take place from 9:30 to 10:30 AM on Friday, September 12, 2025 at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park where a Celebration of Jack's Life will begin at 10:30. Burial will follow in Glenwood Memorial Gardens.
