John T. Grawl, Sr., 76, formerly of Aston, died February 29, 2020 at Penn Presbyterian Hospital. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Daniel W. and Agnes C. Dempsey Grawl and moved to his last residence in Virginia Beach, VA, 23 years ago.
John was a graduate of West Catholic High School for Boys, class of 1961 and PMC (now Widener) with a BS in Electrical Engineering. He also earned his Master's Degree from Widener. John was employed by Q.E.D. Systems in Virginia Beach for 11 years in Business Development and previously worked for the Defense Department at the Philadelphia and Norfolk Naval Shipyards as an Electrical Engineer. He was a member of the Church of St. Joseph in Aston PA, where he was a Lector and volunteered with many activities and was a member of Holy Family Parish in Virginia Beach VA, where he was an usher and Eucharistic Minister. John was devoted to his family, church and friends.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Daniel W. Grawl, Jr. and Martin J. Grawl.
John is survived by his wife of 22 years, Judy A. DeLutis-Grawl; his children, John T. Grawl, Jr. (Mary), Daniel W. Grawl (Danielle), Denise M. Feeley, Kathryn A. Reneski (Mark), Donna M. Pellak,, Robert M. Grawl (Sally), Joseph R. Grawl (Elizabeth), Patricia M. Ramsey (Christopher), Christine M. Foster (Charles) and Paul John Grawl (Gabriella); 23 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; his sisters-in-law, Rita Grawl (Daniel W.) and Jane Grawl (Martin J.); his niece, Linda M. Grawl; and his nephews, Martin Grawl, Michael Grawl, Daniel Grawl and Terrance Grawl.
Funeral Mass: 10:30 AM Thursday, March 5, 2020 at the Church of St. Joseph, 3255 Concord Road, Aston, PA 19014, where relatives and friends may call from 9:15-10:15 AM.
