John F. "Jack" Reid, 85, of Springfield died September 28, 2013 at Haskins House. Born in Norwood, son of the late James P. and Elizabeth McClurg Reid, Jack had lived in Morton for the past 59 years.
Mr. Reid was a US Army Veteran who served as a Field Photographer during the Korean War. He received the United Nations Medal, the Korean Service Medal with 5 Bronze Service Stars, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation, Commendation Ribbon with Metal Pendant and the Meritorious Unit Commendation. Jack was previously employed as an accountant for the Sun Oil Company and after retirement worked for several real estate agencies. He was am member of The Blue Church and enjoyed photography, cooking and traveling with his wife to Europe and vacationing at the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
He was father of the late Jeffrey A. Reid, and brother of the late Marion Seamen, Vira May Vance and James P. Reid, Jr.
Survivors: loving husband of Dolores Cotton Reid; father of John M. Reid and Lisa Collins (Scott); brother of Wilson G. Reid; grandfather of Michael Collins, also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
