John "Jack" E. McQuade, 76 a lifelong resident of Ridley Park died on June 29, 2025 while vacationing in Tioga County, PA. Born in Darby, he was the son of the late John and M. Theresa Master McQuade.
Jack was a decorated veteran of the US Army having served during the Vietnam War. Before his retirement in 2015 he was employed as a carpenter for Benny Powell for many years and finished his career at Upper Darby School District. He was also a bartender at Dolan's Bar and Mikey's Place. Jack was an active member of The Church of St. Madeline in Ridley Park. He was an avid NASCAR and Philadelphia sports fan. Jack loved country music, the Rolling Stones and Jimmy Buffet and his hobbies included hunting, fishing and camping. Jack enjoyed his bi-weekly visits to Del-Vets and he also loved Ireland, where he had visited six times, three with the Woodland String Band. More than anything, most important was his family, his cherished grandchildren and his many friends.
He was the loving husband of 53 years to Mary Ellen Pearsall McQuade, devoted father of Maureen McQuade Conn (Tim) and Jessica McQuade, grandfather of Jacob John McQuade, Karleigh McQuade, John Conn, Mariella McQuade, Sheamus Conn and the late Rylie McQuade, brother of James G. McQuade (Lorri), Rosemarie T. Baroni (Larry), Edward J. McQuade, Marybeth Billingsley (Joe) and his late brother Paul J. McQuade (Peggy), uncle of the late Scott McQuade and Kevin Baroni and is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation 6-8 PM Monday, July 7, 2025 at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Avenue, Ridley Park and 9:15 to 10:15 AM Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at The Church of St. Madeline, 400 Morton Ave., Ridley Park where a Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 AM. Burial private.
