John G. Benson, 67 of Ridley Park died on June 28, 2023 at his home.  Born in Darby, he was the son of the late Francis T. "Frank" and Alice D. "Dolly" Otruba Benson.

John was a graduate of Ridley High School, class of 1974 and had attended Chubb Institute.  He had been employed as a Quality Inspector at the Boeing Company for 28 years before retiring in 2020.  John was a member of St. Gabriel R.C. Church and was an avid Philadelphia sports and hockey fan.  He enjoyed fishing and camping and will be remembered as a loving and caring father and brother.  He enjoyed spending time with his friends and especially his cherished grandchildren.

He was the father of John Thomas (Adrienne), Pop Pop of Aubrey, Logan Gabriel and Madison Thomas, brother of Thomas Benson (Nancy), Matthew Benson (Debbie), Judith Benson, Alyse Benson, Anna Small, Michael Benson and the late Frank Benson, Jr., also survived by his aunt Rosemary Gilifillan and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral Mass 11 AM Friday, July 7, 2023 at St. Gabriel R.C. Church, 233 Mohawk Ave, Norwood where relatives and friends may call 9:30 to 10:30 AM.  Burial SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
