John Leonard Beamon, Jr., 78 of Ridley Park died on May 8, 2025 at his home.  Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late John and Marie Kemble Beamon.

John was a graduate of Monsignor Bonner High School, class of 1965 and proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.  He enjoyed a long career as a baggage handler at US Airways and had previously worked for Eastern Airlines.  John was an active member at The Church of St. Madeline where he was a founder of the Men's basketball team.  He was a longtime PIAA Official for baseball, soccer, basketball, and softball.  John was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and he also enjoyed golfing.  He  loved traveling to San Diego and the Jersey Shore.  John also enjoyed following his grandchildren's sporting activities, but most important was spending time with his loving family.

He was the loving husband of 55 years to Jaye Hollins Beamon, father of Regina Nangle (John), Karen Gibson (Dan) and Daniel Beamon, brother of Lynn Hocker (Denny) and the late David Beamon and is also survived by seven grandchildren.

Funeral Mass 11 AM Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at The Church of St. Madeline, 400 Morton Ave., Ridley Park where relatives and friends may call 9:30 to 10:30 AM.  Burial SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
