Johanna "Joan" E. Gusler

Johanna “Joan” Gusler, age 85, passed away peacefully on January 27, surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 16, 1940, she was the daughter of the late John T. and Anna Russell Manuel, Joan was a lifelong resident of Aston and a beloved pillar of her community. She was the co-owner of Gusler Tree Service for many years.

Joan was a devoted parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Church, where she was a longtime member of the St. Francis de Sales Ladies Club. She also faithfully served as a crossing guard at St. Francis de Sales School for 30 years, watching over generations of children with care and dedication.

Above all else, Joan loved her family. She enjoyed camping, family vacations, playing the slots, and hosting cherished family dinners. Her home and heart were always open, and her love, strength, and warmth will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Joan is survived by her loving children: Joan Clarke, Andy Gusler (Debi), Taylor Gusler, Ed Gusler, Tracy Kohl (Bob), and Mark Gusler (Kelley). She was a proud grandmother to 18 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Faye, along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband James Gusler; her son Jimbo Gusler; her grandson Kyle Slesicki; her son-in-law Tom Clarke; her daughter-in-law Karen Gusler and her siblings; Francis "Mort" Manuel, John "Jack" Manuel, Patrick J. Manuel, James R. Manuel, Ellen Joyce Coppock, Patricia Anne Reeder, Anna L. Weber and Raymond J. Manuel.

Joan’s legacy of faith, service, and unconditional love will live on through her family and the many lives she touched.

A visitation will held on Thursday, February 5, 2026 from 6-8 PM at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 3551 Concord Rd., Aston and from 9:45 to 10:45 AM on Friday, February 6, 2026 at St. Francis de Sales R.C. Church, 35 New Road, Aston where a Funeral Mass will begin at 11 AM.
