Joanna Marie Leeland, 42 of Aston, PA, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2016 after a brave and heroic battle with brain cancer. Born on November 15, 1973 in Wynnewood, PA , Joanna was a lifelong resident of Aston. Joanna was a graduate of Sun Valley High School class of 1991. She achieved an Associate's degree of Business Administration at Goldey Beacom College in Delaware. After some time working in the business field as an office manager, she opened her own daycare business which allowed her to stay at home to raise her daughters. She was dedicated to the many children she nurtured through the years and always kept a special place in her heart for them. She was a devoted and kindhearted daughter, wife, mother, sister and friend, and will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her father, Allen Haley and sister Marianne Haley.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Bayada Hospice and her long time caregiver Aisha Smith who was compassionate to Joanna during the last months of her life.

Joanna is survived by: her mother Joan Haley; husband of ten years, Richard Gommer; her children, Lauren Anders and her husband Adam, Melanie Leeland, Ethan Gommer, and Chase Gommer; siblings, Helene Cline (Tim), Allen Haley (Bernie), Janice Kruzienski (Walt), Monica Carrigg (Daniel), Sharon Filson (Bob), Jerry Haley (Hal), and Brian Haley (Darla), and many nieces and nephews.

There will be a visitation on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church at 3255 Concord Road, Aston, PA 19014. A Memorial Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the church. Both are open to the public. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to account 6757294920 at TD Bank, which will be used for future college expenses for Joanna's younger children. A deposit can be made in person at any TD Bank, or a check made out to Richard Gommer to be mailed to 13 Anvil Road, Aston, PA 19014.
