Joan A. Surace Rinkers, 78 of Swarthmore, died on March 6, 2013 at her home.

Born in Mayfield, PA, Joan has lived at her late residence for the past 50 years.

She was a member of Notre Dame de Lourdes R.C. Church, loved Philadelphia sports, the casinos, gardening; but most important to her was her family.

Joan was wife of the late John P. Rinkers, Sr. who died in 2007; daughter of the late Joseph and Emma Paone Surace; also sister of the late Angela Clause, James, Leo, Joseph, Catherine and Joan's twin John Surace.

Survivors; her children Joan M. Griffith (Robert), Catherine A. Shappell (Daniel), John P. Rinkers, Jr. (Nancy), Paula A. Callahan (John) and Jennifer J. Miller (Ronald); her grandchildren Courtney, Megan, Danny, Joshua, Emma, Theresa and Abby; also her siblings Mary Buckingham and Francis Surace.

Funeral Mass 10:30AM Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at Notre Dame de Lourdes R.C. Church, 1000 Fairview Rd., Swarthmore, PA 19081 where friends may call from 9:30 to 10:15AM.
