Obituary

Joan D. Pinkstone, 88 a longtime resident of Aldan, PA died peacefully on May 4, 2023.

Born in Philadelphia, Joan was a 1953 graduate of John Bartram High School where she played cello. Later she worked at GE in Philadelphia. She was the daughter of the late Daniel and Jean Johnston and wife of 56 years to Norman A. Pinkstone until his passing in 2010.

Joan was an active member with the Chapel of the Good Shepherd Church, Aldan Union Church and East Gate Presbyterian Church, DE. where she enjoyed being involved in Missionary Conferences, Church Dinners and Women's Groups. She was also involved in the Boy Scouts where she served as a Den Mother.

Joan enjoyed vacations in Cape May and Wildwood NJ as well as many years in their Summer Home in Long Neck, DE but most of all she enjoyed time with her family in her Aldan home where she lived for sixty-five years. She also enjoyed her many friends and her beloved dogs Marmaduke and Puggy.

Joan is survived by her children Stephen (Lynn Laut), Eric (Felicia) and daughter Nancy Kordalski (Edward) . She is also survived by grandchildren Joseph Kordalski (Ciara), Alicia (Kordalski) Potter (Chadley) and great grandchildren, Adelaide, Charlotte and Theodore Potter. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were a tremendous source of joy for her. Joan is also survived by her identical twin sister Jean McHugh, Florida, sister-in-law Carole Pinkstone,Delaware and several nieces and nephews.

The immediate family would like to express their gratitude to Joan's extended family at Merrill Gardens in Glen Mills, PA where she resided for almost two years in the Garden House Memory Care Unit. There she enjoyed the compassionate care, activities, companionship and delicious meals. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Joan's memory to Aldan Union Church or the Providence Animal Center in Upper Providence, PA.
